Materials:

· Super Bulky 6 Weight Yarn – I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Quick and Thick in color “Succulent” This brand has lots of beautiful colors and is easy to work with. The blend is 20% wool, 80% acrylic.


· US Size 15 circular needles (10 mm)


· Place Marker


· Faux Fur Pom Pom or Yarn Pom Pom (optional)


Common Abbreviations:

St- Stitch

PM – Place Mark

K – Knit

P – Purl

K2tog – Knit Two Stitches Together

Gauge: 17st/10rows = 4” in polka dot stitch


**Notes: This hat has an oversized, slouchy fit. For a hat that fits closer to the head, decrease the amount of rows in the body of the hat to 24. Continue to decrease as directed.


Begin Pattern:

Using a long tail cast on method, cast on 40 st. Join in the round, being careful not to twist stitches.


Ribbing:

Rows 1-6: K1,P1


Body:

Row 7: K all st

Row 8: K3, P1

Row 9: K all st

Row 10: K1, P1 *K3, P1* until last 2 st, K2

Row 11: K all st

Row 12: K3, P1

Row 13: K all st

Row 14: K1, P1 *K3, P1* until last 2 st, K2

Row 15: K all st

Row 16: K3, P1

Row 17: K all st

Row 18: K1, P1 *K3, P1* until last 2 st, K2

Row 19: K all st

Row 20: K3, P1

Row 21: K all st

Row 22: K1, P1 *K3, P1* until last 2 st, K2

Row 23: K all st

Row 24: K3, P1

Row 25: K all st

Row 26: K1, P1 *K3, P1* until last 2 st, K2

Row 27: K all st

Row 28: K3, P1


Decrease:

Row 29: K2,K2tog

Break yarn and draw through remaining st.

Weave in ends

Tightly secure pom-pom, if desired.
