The Emily Beanie | Free Knitting Pattern | Bulky Knit Hat Free Pattern

Updated: 2 days ago

If you'd like the ad free, printable pdf version of this pattern it is available for a small fee here.

When I first sat down to create this pattern, I had a vision of style meets comfort. I wanted a simple beanie to keep me super warm while still looking cute. From this vision, the Emily Beanie was born. I hope you enjoy this free knitting pattern as much as I do!

Knitting two strands of super bulky yarn together, the beanie is very thick and perfect to brave those freezing temps in style.

This pattern is suitable for all skill levels. You should be comfortable knitting in the round, knitting two strands together, and knit and purl stitches.

To complete this project, I used US Size 19 circular needles with a 16" cord. I found this combination hard to find. If you have a set of interchangeable circular needle cords, this would be a great option to obtain the desired cord length. Otherwise, if you have a difficult time finding the correct size, you can use the magic loop method.

The yarn used for this hat is Lion Brand Wool Ease Quick & Thick in color "Fisherman." You will knit two strands of this yarn together to achieve a perfectly thick and textured beanie.

Materials:

Super Bulky 6 Weight Yarn – I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Quick and Thick in color “Fisherman.” This brand has lots of beautiful colors and is easy to work with. The blend is 20% wool, 80% acrylic.
